Bocce Jamboree

Neither heat nor humidity nor gloom of stormy skies stayed these players from their 3rd annual Jamboree

It was a day of hot competition and even hotter weather at the Council on Aging’s annual Bocce Ball Jamboree that ended in a washout Friday, Aug. 3.

Bell was one of 32 players from Marblehead that faced off against teams from Beverly and Wenham in the third annual jamboree. Marblehead’s Pat Bibbo established the COA Bocce Jamboree in 2016 and it has continued to grow in popularity, participation and friendly competition.

But it wasn’t only the players that stepped up their game this year. Bell joked that John Capelotti has become obsessed with grooming the bocce court.
